Running with My Daughter: Anything Is Possible 5K

The anticipation of a race is half the fun!! The planning, prep, outfit selection, drive there, pre-race standing around is almost as exciting as the race itself.  Then there's the post-race glow.... I'm getting ready to do the Anythings Possible 5K at the University of Nevada Reno campus with one of my 19-year-old daughters. ( http://anythingispossible5k.com/)  9 cities are participating at 1:30 am while the clocks turn back thus giving runners a negative time. Can anyone say PR??? I don't usually sign myself up for a 5K - I prefer half marathons - but I can't wait to do this together! I'm not sure what I'm most excited about: packet pickup with Bri, running the race with Bri, or the energy present at every race I've ever entered. It's probably a tie.... Had the camera at packet pickup but completely forgot to ask someone to take a shot of us!  DUH!! The race was well marked, staffed, and organized but quiet late at night.  Hilly course.  I ran a 28-minute flat time, Bri was at around 32 minutes.  I ran her in but it was so dark the pics didn't show well.  Brianna got 9th place in her 19-29-year-old age group and I got 2nd place for 40-49 year age group!!! Dinner was at a local UNR hangout.  Not well organized, they ran out of food and results didn't make it over so I didn't get my prize.  They said they'd mail them out but BUMMER!!  We'll see what I get.  Went to Denny's for a Fit Slam at 3 am and then home to bed.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Thanks, Tony!! It was fun. I need a bigger challenge to plan for myself but I'd like to see what other 5K's are coming up to do with the kids again.
